We will Rise Again

To all of you that choose to stay home,

choose social distancing,

and choose to wash your hands,

I thank you.

You put the health and wellbeing

of our global family first.

I honor you for that.

I stand with you.

You give me HOPE.

To the medical professionals, first responders, store workers, and truck drivers,

I thank you.

I see you.

I am indebted to you.

I am grateful for you.

You are the HERO’S in this war.

For those of you who are sick,

stay rested and hydrated,

but never stop fighting.

There are hero’s by your side fighting for you.

People you may never meet are fighting with you.

We will not give up until the war has been won.

To those grieving the loss of a loved one.

There are no words to express how sorry I am.

My heart breaks for you.

I mourn with you.

You are my brothers and sisters and I love you.

Tears flow from my eyes often,

sometimes they dry,

only to flow again as I read the news.

I want to do more.

I wish to help more.

I just don’t know how yet.

When I know, I will go. I will do. I will be more.

I promise that.

For now,  I place my trust in the experts.

My family and I will do what is asked of us.

We do it for our community.

Each day, I teach my children about the strength

that comes when people are united,

not divided.

We practice kindness.

We find joy in the everyday moments.

I feel peace in this place.

I am drawn to the stories of the good,

the ones that have overcome.

The helpers.

The doers.

They heal me.

They bring the light.

We will prevail.

Together, we will rise with greater unity,

resilience, and strength,

as a global family.
